Last month, Lacuna Diagnostics was one of six companies featured at Demo Day for Leap Venture Studio, the first pet-specific accelerator founded by Mars Petcare, Michelson Found Animal Foundation, and R/GA Ventures.
The graduating companies - including AnimalBiome, CuidaMiMascota, Mixlab, Pet Plate and Wild Earth - make up the future of the pet care and pet health industry. While varied in product and market, the companies all shared the common goal of improving the health of pets across the country.
As part of Leap Venture Studio, the Lacuna team has spent the last several months collaborating with industry leaders, mentors, and partners to hone the company’s next big steps. The work, which took place in Portland and back at Lacuna’s headquarters in Fort Collins, Colo. has covered everything from brand design to market strategy. The future for Lacuna includes debuting the Autoscan slide scanner in more speciality hospitals, strengthening their network of board-certified pathologists, and helping practitioners understand the power of cytology.
At Demo Day, Lacuna founder and Chief Operating Officer Conor Blanchet presented Lacuna’s big goals to a crowd of collaborators and potential investors. “The opportunity to, first, polish our ideas and, second, showcase them to such an important audience was invaluable. We know that being a member of Leap Venture Studio will permanently transform the trajectory of our company.”
Lacuna Diagnostics will now be an alumni company of Leap Venture Studios, part of a dynamic and soon-to-be growing network. Applications for the next cohort are open with selections to be made in Winter 2018. Interested? Visit www.leapventurestudio.com.
